Why almost nothing else does this
On-device clipping means shipping real native software: video decoding, a transcription model, GPU acceleration and an export pipeline, all working against three different graphics stacks, three driver situations and three packaging formats. It is substantially harder than running the same code on servers you control, which is why cloud tools do not have this problem and local tools usually solve it by picking one platform.
Look at what that produces in practice. The strongest local clippers are Apple-Silicon-only — not merely macOS, but explicitly not Intel Macs either. The free Windows entrants are Windows-only, with Mac listed as coming soon. The browser-based tools sidestep the problem by not being native at all, and pay for it in performance. The genuinely cross-platform options are open-source projects that expect you to install a model stack yourself.

Native, not a browser in a costume

Ascynd is compiled to native code for each platform and talks directly to the hardware underneath — the GPU for decode and encode, the CPU cores for transcription. It reads files from the path where they already sit rather than through a browser upload dialog, and it uses the operating system's own file handling rather than reimplementing it.
The practical result is that a long recording is processed at the speed your machine is capable of, on all three platforms, rather than at the speed a browser sandbox permits.
